stillLIFE

The work was based on branch structures found in plants both large and small; trees and weeds. "Rorschach"ed multiples were created to reflect other forms in nature such as the human brain. Also photo duets were shown.

bur(id)den

bur(ID)den: an entomology of memories is a show based on the events (and therefore memories) that define our personas. This show was hosted by the artisan fabrication shop of Gulassa and Co, Inc. near downtown Fremont Oct-Nov 2004 and was re-mounted at Halo Salon in Seattle. Show ran Nov. 20th thru Jan 05. For more info see my graphics page for "bur(id)den: the book".

the tending of runners

This show is about that kind of constant attention one needs to pay to stay healthy; physically, spiritually, mentally. The arching forms in the pieces where made by my using my body as the radius point; fully engaging my body while drawing. The show was mounted at 8 Limbs Yoga Studio on Capitol Hill, Seattle in 2004.

This show was an extension of the Nov/Dec Halo Salon Art Show called "The Fallings". See "the fallings: halo" for description.

THE FALLINGS: halo

THE FALLINGS: halo

This was a Nov/Dec 2003 Halo Salon Art Show called "The Fallings". A strong fascination with the natural world (its structures, patterns and embrace of the imperfect) propels the work. These drawings and paintings are based on motifs from the natural sciences; the wing structure of insects, the taut line of a cattail, and the morphing pattern of light dapples. A method a friend coined "create, destroy, create". Drawing first, then erasing, smudging or in some other way destroying the drawings and then recreating it anew; mimicking the continuum that is the process of life; a state of perpetual falling.
